Who Am I

Welcome! My name is Mike Kizzar and I am the MHS STEM instructor. I received my bachelor's degree in biology before pursuing my master's degree in Marine Biology.  I spent several years working in Florida before moving to Louisiana to pursue a teaching career.  I was hired in 2015 to begin growing the Engineering portion of the MHS STEM program and as of 2017 we have three PLTW-certified Engineering/Computer Science classes with plans to expand in the future!

Have a Wonderful Wolverine Day!

What is STEM?

STEM is an acronym for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.  STEM classes are meant to guide students and prepare for them working in the modern workplace, as STEM-related careers are projected to grow the fastest in the future economy.  My personal goal for these classes is to prepare students to pursue STEM degrees in college as well as careers in STEM fields.
